Foreign Pharmacists Can Apply for Visas to Work in Australia

Australian Health Minister Greg Hunt reported 118 community pharmacies have been providing vaccines to the public across the country, and that number is about to increase to 470 by the end of the month. Over 3,900 pharmacies have shown interest in joining the rollout program as they were invited to come on board across metropolitan and regional areas.

The Scott Morrison government will aid pharmacies across Australia, even through skilled migration, as the supply of vaccines increases over the coming weeks.

As more vaccines become available and the rollout is continuing, the federal government is offering fast-track Australian visas for foreign pharmacists. They have added the occupation to the Priority Migration Skilled Occupation list, which will give priority visa processing.

The new report comes as thousands of Australian pharmacies are joining the vaccine rollout push to help accelerate the number of vaccines given to the population. The new Australian visa categories will include retail pharmacists, hospital pharmacists, and industrial pharmacists. These newly added occupations will result in priority visa processing for pharmacists across the retail, hospital, and industrial sectors.
